The lifetime friendships they have made through collecting, both with fellow collectors and the artists, has become in many ways the center of their lives. Included in their collection are artists such as Howard Terpning, John Clymer, Donald Teague, Jim Reynolds, and many others.

Montana collectors Roe and Beverly Hatlen began collecting in 1989 and have many fine artists in their collection, including Howard Terpning, C.M. Russell, Tom Lovell, Roy Andersen, Bill Aton, Clyde Aspevig, Jim Norton, Tim Shinabarger, Dan Gerhartz and Charles Fritz.
